The R11 Temporary Work Permit (TWP) is a Multiple Entry Temporary Residence Visa (TRV) for Foreign Skilled Workers engaging in short-term task/project in Nigeria. Not to be confused with the F8A TWP visa, This six-month non-renewable visa was also re-introduced in the Nigeria Visa Policy 2020 and is only obtainable through the Nigeria Mission - Embassy, High Commission or Consulate of Nigeria abroad.

Eligibility

  • A. Foreign skilled expat employed or contracted by Nigeria-based company to perform temporary tasks like equipment commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, training and/or auditing.

  • B. Sea or Air crew members on a mission to maintain, repair, dismantle or remove vessel within the territory of Nigeria, in accordance with international convention guiding such operation.

Requirements

Submit to the Nigerian Immigration (twp@immigration.gov.ng)

  • Formal R11 Application by the Employer to the CGI.
    (Must indicate Acceptance of Immigration Responsibilities) 
  • Employment Offer/Contract Terms to the Applicant 
  • Letter/Note of Acceptance of Employment by the Applicant 
  • Educational Qualification(s) 
  • Curriculum Vitae in English language
  • Certificate of Incorporation and/or Business Permit. 
  • CAC 2 and 7
  • Nigerian Company Profile. 
  • Evidence of purchase / importation of equipmet (if applicable)

Submit to the Nigerian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate

  • Visa Authority Letter (Pre-Approval from the Nigerian Immigration) 
  • Educational Qualification(s) with Attestation of the original copy(s)
    (Duly attested by the Foreign Affairs Ministry and/or Education Ministry of Applicant’s country) 
  • Curriculum Vitae in English language 
  • Employment Offer/Contract Terms to the Applicant 
  • Letter/Note of Acceptance of Employment by the Applicant
  • Evidence of Financial Health / means of sustenance

  • Crew Member Certificate (if applicable)
  • Professional Operating License (if applicable)

Basic Requirements (Applicable to all visa applications)

  • Printout of completed Online Visa Application form.
  • Printout of the Online Payment Acknowledgement slip. 
  • Two (2) recent Passport sized (35/40mm) Photograph.
  • Any other requirement of the Nigeria Consular Mission.

Visa Validity

The period between the date visa is issued and when applicant can enter Nigeria.
