F8A - Temporary Work Permit Visa

Under the Nigeria Visa Policy 2020, the F8A Temporary Work Permit (F8A TWP) is a single entry 90 day Short Visit Visa issued to an expert invited by company in Nigeria for the purpose of providing short-term specialized skilled service(s). Not to be confused with the R11 TWP visa, This 90-day F8A visa is a Temporary Work Permit is also only obtainable through the Nigerian Mission Abroad (Embassy, High Commision or Consulate).

Eligibility

  • A. Foreign skilled expat employed or contracted by Nigeria-based company to perform temporary tasks like equipment commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, training and/or auditing.

  • B. Sea or Air crew members on a mission to maintain, repair, dismantle or remove vessel within the territory of Nigeria, in accordance with international convention guiding such operation.

Requirements

Submit to the Nigerian Immigration (twp@immigration.gov.ng)

  • Formal F8A Application by the Employer to the CGI.
    (Must indicate Acceptance of Immigration Responsibilities) 
  • Certificate of Incorporation and/or Business Permit.
  • Nigerian Company Profile. 

Submit to the Nigerian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate

  • Visa Authority Letter (Pre-Approval from the Nigerian Immigration)
  • Evidence of Accommodation Reservation in Nigeria
  • Evidence of Financial Health / means of sustenance

  • Crew Member Certificate (if applicable)
  • Professional Operating License (if applicable)

Basic Requirements (Applicable to all visa applications)

  • Printout of completed Online Visa Application form.
  • Printout of the Online Payment Acknowledgement slip. 
  • Two (2) recent Passport sized (35/40mm) Photograph.
  • Any other requirement of the Nigeria Consular Mission.

The period between the date visa is issued and when applicant can enter Nigeria.
