IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NIGERIAN NATIONALS IN CAMBODIA

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Manila with concurrent accreditation to the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to inform Nigerian nationals currently residing in Cambodia, particularly those affected by the recent enforcement actions by the Cambodian authorities against certain establishments, that the Mission is fully aware of the situation and is actively engaging with the relevant Government authorities in Cambodia to address the matter.

2. The Embassy has formally initiated discussions with the Cambodian authorities with a view to securing compassionate consideration for affected Nigerians, particularly regarding the waiver of immigration penalties, fines, and other related charges, as well as facilitating exit clearance for those willing to return to Nigeria voluntarily.

3.In this regard, the Embassy kindly urges all affected Nigerian nationals to:

• Remain calm and law-abiding at all times and cooperate with the Cambodian authorities;
• Avoid any actions that may worsen the situation, including involvement in unlawful activities; and
• Maintain regular communication with the Nigerian community leadership and the Embassy where necessary.

4. Furthermore, the Embassy wishes to advise those intending to return home to begin to make personal arrangements and keep funds ready for their flight tickets in anticipation of a favorable outcome from the ongoing discussions with the Cambodian authorities.

5. The Embassy appreciates the patience and cooperation of all concerned Nigerian nationals and assures them that it will continue to pursue diplomatic engagement aimed at achieving a humane and practical resolution for those affected.
