The Consul General of Nigeria in Atlanta Georgia, Amb. (Dr.) Amina Smaila delivered the keynote address to mark the opening of the 2nd African Film Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The Consul General thanked the Director, Ms. Mojisola Sonoiki and Board Members of the African Film and Arts Foundation for providing a much needed platform to discuss one of the defining issues of our time: Telling African Stories.
The Consul General stated that the support of the Government of Nigeria is noteworthy, as under the current administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, the Creative Industries Finance Initiative (CIFI), was established in 2019, as a scheme to, among other things, provide members of the entertainment community access to a pool of dedicated resources and funding.
The African Film Festival, Atlanta is organized by the African Film and Arts Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to raising the propensities and potentials of African arts and cinema cultures.
